Bold Tee Hub wasn't born in a boardroom. It started with a joke.

Back in 2017, founder Matthew Murphy was heavily involved in Facebook modeling and photography communities. Because "Matthew Murphy" is such a common name, he created the Mike Anderson brand identity to stand out online and build a recognizable presence. At the time, there were only a handful of Mike Anderson profiles on Facebook, making it easier to establish a unique identity within the photography community.

One of the most common complaints in modeling groups was photographers taking forever to deliver TFP (Time For Prints) photos after a shoot. As a joke, Matthew began creating and posting "prematurely edited" images featuring sarcastic signs and humorous captions.

What started as a joke quickly turned into something more.

People began asking if the designs could be printed on coffee mugs, hoodies, and t-shirts because they actually wanted to buy them. That unexpected demand sparked the idea for a business.

In 2019, Matthew launched Adult Gear, a brand focused on bold humor, adult-themed apparel, and designs that weren't afraid to say what other brands wouldn't.

Then everything changed.

In 2020, on his birthday, a damaged iPhone resulted in the loss of access to many social media accounts that had been built over several years. Because much of the online presence had been established under the Mike Anderson alias, recovering those accounts became extremely difficult. Without identification matching the name, much of the audience and momentum that had been built was effectively lost overnight.

Determined to keep moving forward, Matthew relocated from California to Oklahoma with plans to fully establish and grow the business. Shortly afterward, the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted those plans and forced the project into the background while work and family responsibilities took priority.

Eventually, Matthew moved back to California to be closer to his children. Although some access to the original Adult Gear brand was recovered, it wasn't enough to fully rebuild what had been lost.

In 2025, everything changed again.

That's when Matthew discovered the power of print-on-demand technology. Instead of carrying inventory, renting warehouse space, or ordering large quantities of products upfront, print-on-demand made it possible to create and sell designs with far less risk while focusing on what mattered most: creating great designs people actually wanted to wear.

With a fresh approach and years of lessons learned, Adult Gear was reimagined and relaunched as Bold Tee Hub.

Today, Bold Tee Hub creates funny, bold, sarcastic, inspirational, and conversation-starting apparel for people who aren't afraid to express themselves. Whether you're making a statement, sharing a laugh, or showing off your personality, we believe your clothing should say something about who you are.

As the company continues to grow, the goal remains simple: build a business that supports family, creates products people enjoy, and eventually establish a permanent home in a state that better aligns with the company's long-term vision and values.

The name may have changed, but the mission hasn't.
